Objectives

Individual Learning Session: Life Story Work

At the end of this session you will:

  • know about 'life story work'
  • have some ideas about how useful it can be
  • have some examples of good practice
  • feel more confident to use it in your workplace
The learning objectives in this session link in to the following units:
  • Care Certificate:
    • 5.2 Understand working in a person centred way:
      • 5.2a - Describe the importance of finding out the history, preferences, wishes and needs of the individual
    • 7.2 Maintain the privacy and dignity of the individual(s) in their care:
      • 7.2c - Explain why it is important not to disclose anything about the individual that they may wish to be kept private, unless it is appropriate to do so. This could include: Health condition, Sexual orientation, Personal history, Social circumstances
