Objectives

Individual Learning Session: Recognising and Managing Conflicts

At the end of this session you will:

  • have begun to understand how you can help others make and accept compromise
  • recognise that the differences of viewpoint may lead to conflict
  • have begun to understand how you can work to minimise these conflicts
  • know of practical ways to defuse emotions
The learning objectives in this session link in to the following units:
  • Care Certificate:
    • 1.4 Work in partnership with others:
      • 1.4d - Demonstrate how and when to access support and advice about: partnership working, resolving conflicts
    • 3.2 Understand the support available for addressing dilemmas that may arise about duty of care:
      • 3.2b - Explain what they must and must not do within their role in managing conflicts and dilemmas
    • 3.5 Deal with confrontation and difficult situations:
      • 3.5d - Demonstrate how and when to access support and advice about resolving conflicts
