Objectives

Individual Learning Session: Creative Movement in Social Care

At the end of this session you will:

  • Should be feeling confident and inspired about facilitating a creative movement group.
  • Will be able to explain the social, emotional and physical benefits which creative movement has for individuals at all ages.
  • Will understand and be able to explain the importance of adapting creative movement sessions to make them accessible to all participants.
  • Will have been able to prepare for, plan and provide at least one movement session for a group of individuals and understand the importance of group members’ involvement in the preparation and planning processes.
  • Will understand the importance of involving group members in assessing how far the outcomes of a movement session have achieved its predetermined goals.
  • Know the importance of checking on individuals’ circumstances and getting to know them before they participate in a creative movement session.
  • Understand the importance of following health and safety and risk management procedures in relation to meeting the needs both of the group and in relation to each individual member of it.
  • Will have had the opportunity to identify any further linked learning or experiential needs in relation to the topics covered.
